Tunzaa Hosts ZegeKuku Meetup for Developers & Businesses

On 10 July 2026, Tunzaa hosted the ZegeKuku Meetup, bringing together developers, entrepreneurs, business owners and technology enthusiasts for an evening of meaningful conversations around technology, digital commerce and community building.

ZegeKuku is more than sharing a meal. It is a community tradition where people gather over zege kuku to exchange ideas, build friendships and create opportunities together. At Tunzaa, the meetup embodies our belief that the strongest technology ecosystems are built through genuine human connections before code is written or businesses are launched.

The event also reflected Tunzaa’s vision of building the digital commerce infrastructure that enables African businesses to Build. Sell. Scale. By connecting businesses, developers, financial institutions and consumers through one ecosystem, Tunzaa is creating the foundation that allows innovation, commerce and opportunity to grow together across the continent.  
 
During the meetup, attendees were introduced to Tunzaa’s growing product ecosystem:

• Soko – a digital marketplace connecting buyers and sellers.

• Mauzo – a white-label commerce platform that enables organizations to launch their own branded online stores and marketplaces.

• Malipo – a payment infrastructure that allows developers and businesses to seamlessly integrate digital payments into websites, mobile applications and enterprise systems.

Beyond the product demonstrations, the evening created space for open discussions, idea sharing and collaboration between developers and businesses. Participants explored opportunities to build solutions together while providing valuable feedback that will continue shaping Tunzaa’s products.

The meetup also continues a journey that began years earlier. Tunzaa CEO Ng’winula Kingamkono previously founded and led the Developers Outreach Program at Ellipsis Digital, an initiative created to identify, mentor and prepare university students to become world-class software developers through hands-on training, industry exposure and real-world projects. The program was established to bridge the gap between university education and the practical skills required by the global technology industry, helping nurture the next generation of Tanzanian software engineers.  
 

The evening concluded, as every ZegeKuku Meetup should, with networking, new friendships and plenty of zege kuku.
